The constant tremors and meteor impact must have waken it up...
I saw for myself the spot where shipping crates and debris used to block the entrance to the Indutrial Zone. It's all gone now, but I have a bad feeling about it all. The Crazed are still heavily massed here, since the entrance is close to the post, but that's not it; holes in the ground. Not your ordinary dug holes, but holes that look like something pushed its way out of the ground. There were no bodies, however, I happened to come across a very frightened man. He told me of how the earth seemed to burst open underneath his feet and a screaming mouth burst out to consume him and his friends.
I can't help but think that a worm must have mutated into such an abomination...
I let the man go back to his remaining group after he described the creature to me. It was very long, and about as large around as a cement truck. It's teeth were shark-like and rimmed all around it's mouth. It also had two large, beady black eyes on either side of its "head." Fortunaty, the man survived because the Wyrm missed him, instead throwing him up into the air and out of the way. The Wyrm would shoot out of the ground like a rocket, and then arch and re-tunnel back underground. It only struck once, but usually killed many with those two lethal strikes.
I hesistated as I envisioned the Wyrm doing just that in the now-vacant holes. Would venturing into the Industrial Zone be a good idea? There could be more of such creatures, but I need some things in there. Specifically... glue for my halberd, since the fishing wire and electric tape keeps coming loose. There also might be a portable sand wheel for me to sharpen the blade. I imagined that there would also be loads of construction supplies and power tools to help me survive.
But once again, is it worth going in there?
