The following text is taken from a text document written five days before the quarantine was put in affect, and one day before the evacuation. It was found on the hard drive of a broken computer at the base of an office building, salvaged by our resident electrical technician Sugio.
Several hours ago over half of Belmon Island was destroyed by meteorite that came crashing down through the skies. The BIPD (Belmon Island Police Department) was one of the many casualties. Due to this, pandemonium has filled the streets, looters and other criminal scum have emerged from the woodwork in an effort to take control of the city. Even as I write this fires burn in the buildings outside our office, and several armed guards are standing guard at the base of our complex.
To anyone who reads this, I implore you, leave the island while you still can. I heard whispers of a quarantine among the militia, and an evacuation is scheduled to take place tomorrow at noon.

The article ends very suddenly. We're left to wonder what happened in that office complex weeks ago, and what could have caused such mass destruction as to send a computer hurling out of a window.
